Literature Text

You draw your fingertips
gently across my pale forehead
sweeping the hair from
my tired eyes.

And I'm falling asleep
to your steady heartbeat
as your lips kiss
my head so tenderly.

The day has been long,
but we've gotta be strong.
We're not going to let them
break us today.

Lovely tenor lullabies
fall swiftly from your lips,
soft, soothing, warm,
an unwavering April rainfall.

We're covered by
blankets of hope.
Promise for sunshine
tomorrow;
promise for the rainbow
at the end of this storm.

The day has been long,
but we've gotta be strong.
We're not going to let them
break us today.
Not sure I like this, and I'm having major difficulties with coming up with a title. :\

I love that line "blankets of hope."
